DHI Presents at DHCS Chicago Colloquium
The DHI Team on Collaboration and Vision at the Chicago Colloquium on Digital Humanities and Computer Science at the University of Chicago (November 9, 2019)
Dr. Brian Atkinson, the Library's Digital Scholarship Coordinator and Visiting Professor, and Dr. Hannah Huber, the Initiative's Postdoctoral Research Associate, were among the first to present at the event, discussing DHI's collaborative spirit and innovative vision on a "Community Building" panel.
Their panel was moderated by Clovis Gladstone of the University of Chicago and featured two other presentations: One on the “The Pulter Project,” a digital project developed, in part, by a Northwestern University team of presenters that included Matthew Taylor, Wendy Wall, Sergei Kalugin, and Katie Poland; and another by Margaret Heller of Loyola University Chicago on digital humanities efforts to build and strengthen communities.
The Chicago Colloquium on Digital Humanities and Computer Science (DHCS) has meet yearly since its firsting gathering in 2006: "It brings together researchers, scholars, librarians, and technologists in the humanities and computer science from across the country and around the world to examine the current state of digital humanities as a field of intellectual inquiry and to identify and explore new directions and perspectives for future research" (DHCS 2019).
