This session is intended to assist UIC faculty and instructors in transitioning from the traditional classroom to the virtual. It will begin with a brief presentation by Hannah Huber (Postdoctoral Research Associate in Digital Humanities) with Q&A to follow.

Topics include:

  • Preparing for an online course
  • Developing online modules in Blackboard
  • Incorporating asynchronous components
  • Use of web-conferencing tools and other UIC- and ACCC-provided resources
  • Ideas for active learning activities
  • Utilizing and moderating discussion-based tools
  • Facilitating online peer review workshops
  • Shifting final project format from traditional to multimodal
  • Assessing digital projects
